Grant for Future Educators
Beta Nu Gives $10,000 in Educational Grants
Beta Nu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International is proud to present educational grants to future educators Andrea Tjemsland and Whitney Bigger Okhin who each received $5,000 July, 2016 for their studies leading to teacher certification. Both are graduates of Sequim High School. Andrea, who attends Chapman College in California is in an Integrated Educational Studies Program and plans to get a Masters in Teaching. Whitney attends Seattle Pacific University; she is working on her Masters in Education with a minor in Literacy. Future educator grants are offered once a year to graduates of Clallam County High Schools who are now in their junior or senior year of college and have been accepted into a teacher education program. They are also offered to students who have completed an undergraduate program at Peninsula College, in Port Angeles, WA and have been accepted into an accredited college teacher-training program. Additionally, graduates of a Clallam County high school (or students who have completed a program at Peninsula College in Port Angeles), who are doing post-graduate work for the purpose of obtaining teacher certification, may also qualify. |
Notice: Please be advised that the generous grants that Beta Nu has provided in the past may soon be restricted due to decreasing resources. No timeline is known; however Beta Nu wishes to make sure that prospective applicants know about this and do not depend on resources that Beta Nu may or may not provide in the future. No guarantees are provided to applicants and applicants should not automatically expect awards even if all application criteria have been met.
